Congratulations go to former Sun County Panther Aaron Ekblad who played top-pairing minutes as a rookie defenceman, and the Florida Panthers' No. 1 overall pick from a year ago earned the Calder Trophy as a result.  Ekblad finished ahead of Mark Stone from the Ottawa Senators and Johnny Gaudreau of the Calgary Flames.  The 19 year old from Belle River set Florida franchise records for goals (12), assists (27) and points (39) by a rookie.  Ekblad played in the NHL All-Star Game as a rookie and also helped Canada win gold in this spring's World Championships.
